Our Origin
Born from the
Timberlands
Six Springs takes its name from the six natural springs that run through our property in central Ohio — a quiet, wooded stretch of land where the seasons announce themselves loudly and the forest feels ancient. It seemed a fitting name for cats that carry something ancient in them too.
We are not a commercial operation. We are a family who fell in love with Maine Coons and decided, after years of research and mentorship, to breed them with the same care and intentionality we would want from a breeder ourselves.
Our kittens are born in our bedroom, raised in our living room, and sent home only when we are certain they are ready — and only to families we are certain are right for them.

Years in the
Making
The First Six Springs Cats
We welcomed our first Maine Coons — a Black Silver Ticked queen named Marley and her sister, a Black Golden Shaded queen named Oakley. We fell simply and completely in love. A month later, King Caspian joined the castle — an icy Silver High Black Smoke. With his strong jaw line and chin, he is the "icing" on the cake for the Six Springs Timbercoon lineage.
The Cattery Takes Shape
After a year of research, mentorship from established breeders, and TICA membership, we made the decision to breed intentionally. We acquired our first queens Marley and Oakley, as well as King Caspian, and began building our health-testing programme.
European Bloodlines
With the addition of Aurora and Caspian and the stud service of Mufasa, all from direct Russian lineages. Marley and Oakley's parents are imported from Switzerland. Our breeding programme has expanded to the queens and kings you see today — and our waitlist grew with it.
Still Small. Still Intentional.
We produce two litters per year per Queen. That is a deliberate choice. We will never be a large cattery. We will always be a careful one.

to Every Kitten
Health Above All
Every breeding cat is cardiac-screened annually by a board-certified cardiologist and tested clear for SMA, PKD, and FIV/FeLV. We do not breed cats we would not keep ourselves.
Raised Underfoot
Our kittens are born and raised in our home — not in a cattery room, not in a cage. They grow up with the sounds, smells, and rhythms of a real household. They are socialised from day one.
Temperament Matters
A Maine Coon should be gentle, curious, and deeply bonded to its people. We select for temperament as deliberately as we select for coat and conformation. Personality is not an afterthought.
European Bloodlines
Our breeding programme traces European Bloodlines. We invest in quality pedigrees because the foundation of every litter begins with the parents.
Small & Intentional
Two to three litters per year. That is our limit. We will never sacrifice the quality of our programme for volume. Every kitten deserves our full attention — and gets it.
Lifetime Support
When you bring home a Six Springs kitten, you gain a breeder for life. We are always available for questions, guidance, and the occasional kitten photo exchange. Our families are our community.

Our Health
Guarantee
Maine Coons are a healthy breed — but they are not without genetic risks. HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) is the most significant concern in the breed, and we take it seriously. Every breeding cat is screened annually. No exceptions.
Every kitten leaves with a written one-year health guarantee against genetic conditions, a full veterinary health certificate, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip. We do not cut corners on any of it.

Annual cardiac ultrasound by board-certified cardiologist
SMA Testing
Spinal Muscular Atrophy — all breeding cats tested clear
PKD Testing
Polycystic Kidney Disease — all breeding cats tested clear

Life at Six Springs
Raised in a Home,
Not a Facility
Our kittens are born in our bedroom, spend their first weeks in a quiet whelping area, and are gradually introduced to the full household — the kitchen, the living room, the sounds of a television, the smell of cooking, the presence of visitors.
By the time they go home at twelve to fourteen weeks, they have been handled daily since birth, introduced to basic grooming, accustomed to car rides, and examined by our veterinarian. They are not timid. They are not feral. They are ready.
We also send every kitten home with a starter kit — a small piece of bedding that smells like their mother and littermates, a bag of their current kitten food, and a care guide.
